This freezing weather has me dying for summer!! So why not flash it back to a gorgeous beach sesh Des did last summer.
Meet Caroline! Caroline is a senior at Havre de Grace High School and a Class of 2022 DOP Senior Rep. Caroline decided was one of the very first reps to book her senior sesh. She knew that she wanted to do two separate sessions - one to document her love for the beach and another to document her home town of Havre de Grace.
One question Des gets a lot is, "do you shoot at the beach." So many seniors love this gorgeous setting for their pics, but since it's almost 3 hours away, Des doesn't take a lot of beach sessions each summer. If you're able to coordinate with Des' family vacay, she'll waive the travel fee. Des does a max of beach sessions each summer, so the best way to secure a spot is to be one of the first to reserve your spot!
And one quick thing to know about shooting at the beach... ideal times are either sunrise (which in the summer is at like 6:00am) or sunset (close to 7:00/8:00pm).
Don't feel like making the trek to a beach like Ocean City, MD? There are actually many small beaches in the area, like North Point State Park or Sandy Point State Park.
Caroline knew she wanted to showcase her love of dance during her beach session, so the majority of her sunrise session was focused on dancing.
For part two, we waited until Fall to do her sesh in downtown Havre de Grace. Caroline brought her boyfriend along for some couples shots. You're always welcome to have a friend or boyfriend join your sesh. It always makes it so much fun! Des had a blast traveling around the town with Carson + Caroline.

"My senior session experience with Des was everything I could have wanted and more. Having a photographer genuinely and wholeheartedly wanting to capture all of the most important parts of my life was something truly magical, and I am so happy with the outcome of both my beach dance shoot and my hometown shoot in Havre de Grace. Des not only made me feel comfortable in the photoshoot environment, but gave me the confidence to be my true self in each and every picture taken. Her guidance, passion, and pure talent has made this experience one I will certainly remember forever, and I am so grateful to have such incredible photographs to capture my senior year and encapsulate everything that makes me who I am!"
