Maddie | Class of 2021 | Fallston High | Beach Inspired Senior Session

I've been dying to show off Maddie's senior session gallery... and today is the day! Maddie’s gallery had over 350 photos (with no two the same)! She wore four different outfits, in two different locations, over a period of two days. Shooting her session in so many outfits, in multiple locations allowed Des to capture so many aspects of Maddie’s sweet, fun-loving personality!

When Maddie booked her senior session she knew she wanted one part of her shoot to be a beachy, sunset shoot…and what better place to do it than Ocean City, MD? She wanted the second part of her shoot to have a more street styled look, so Des suggested shooting at sunrise on the boardwalk.

Maddie went full out for her senior session, and I am here for it! Between her stunning, boho water shots, to her streetwear look on the boardwalk; everything about this shoot screams “summer!”. T-6 months, so I hope these pics warm you up a bit!

Des helped Maddie pic out this beautiful Free People dress! When booking a senior session, consulting with Des about styling is so important. Finding a look that matches both the scenery and your personality can make or break a shoot! Des knows what looks best on camera, so don't hesitate to ask for advice. The color of this dress pulled all of those gorgeous sunset tones and was light enough to take in the water (a must for Maddie during her sesh).

Maddie's boyfriend, Bryant (also a 2021 DOP senior rep) tagged along for the shoot, so Des took some shots of them, too... aren't they the cutest?!

Outfit change! One thing that Des encourages when selecting outfits is to make sure you have variety in your outfits. I usually suggest a dress option and a more casual option and a romper is the best of both worlds. I love everything about this Zara jumper (This particular style is no longer available online), the cinched sleeves and waist band, the v-neck showing her "M" necklace, and the fact it has pockets!

Now onto day two! The second day of Maddie's shoot was shot at sunrise. Most people choose to have their senior session in the afternoon around sunset, but there is something special about early morning shoots too! AM sessions allow for stunning lighting...and avoiding mid-day crowds is always a plus, especially at the beach!

Showing your favorite sport or hobby in your senior session is a great way to personalize your shoot! Not everyone is able to continue pursing the activities they were part of throughout their high school experience to adulthood... So, bringing it to your session is a great way to document the "grand finale". Maddie has danced her whole life, so it was really special to blend her two loves - the beach and dance - into this shoot. Her leotard selection was stunning, too. Des specializes in photographing dancers, so she loved that Maddie added this to her shoot, but Des also loves capturing other sports both in and off the field.

Maddie's last look was a street look. She opted for bike shorts, two different bold tees and a pair of great kicks! I LOVE these Nike Air Max 90's! Bringing shades to your shoot is a super fun way to accessorize and change up your look. This vibe was so perfect for all the vibrant colors on the boardwalk.
