Making a Common Location Feel New | Emma | Class of 2021 | Havre de Grace, MD | Senior Photographer

Des is getting ready to launch her application for 2022 seniors in just ONE WEEK (say what?!?!?) and what better way to celebrate than flashing back to Des' first Senior Rep Senior Sesh of last year. Meet Emma! Well, you might have already “met” her on social media as one of the 2021 DOP Senior Reps. Emma was a part of the beach shoot from my last post rockin’ the red ‘kini top, high waisted denim shorts, and bandana.

Did you know that as a DOP Senior Rep, you get priority scheduling for your senior sesh? Last year Des' calendar was booked through November by mid-September, but all of the DOP Reps who wanted a Summer or Fall Sesh got one! Emma knew she wanted a summer sesh and was the first rep to schedule her shoot last July!

Emma gives off all the summer vibes with her long, wavy hair and glowing skin! So, choosing to do her senior session in July was an obvious decision. From the beach in Ocean City, to the lighthouse on the Chesapeake Bay, Emma’s senior session has me longing for the summer sun in January.

Emma goes to Havre de Grace High School where she is a part of Best Buddies, Student Government Association, Key Club, and plays on the girls varsity lacrosse team. She wanted to share her love of her hometown by taking her senior session photos at the Concord Point Lighthouse. Havre de Grace is known for the lighthouse, like Bel Air is known for the Liriodendron, or Jarrettsville is known for the sunflowers. Because this location is so well known and has been photographed so many times, Des had to find ways to make the photos still feel new and fresh despite being so familiar.

Des is willing to do whatever it takes (I mean, whatever!) to capture the perfect photo. So getting down in the sand and jumping in the water was a no brainer! Des shot pictures all around the Concord Point area making sure to steer clear of the “basic senior pictures” look. Choosing my favorite photos from this session was so tricky, because they are all stunning! But since I can't share all 191 photos, I’ll just show you some of my many favs. Kicking off Des’ first senior session for the class 2021, here is Emma!

And stay glued to Des' Insta stories tomorrow! Emma is TAKING OVER!!
